into the wild

1. Initial reaction is mixed. The premise is interesting and the action of dropping your life basically brings up many interesting thoughts about life and the ties what we can break to everything at any time. The character not so good and seems like he doesnt get the big picture some times.
2. Chris in one word would be wrong. He's always doing something wrong. He goes into the wild with barely anything just about asking to die, leaves all the wonderful things he has nad for what? To prove his point? WRONG. Its just wrong like everything about the situation he puts himself in even if in someway has some story justice or moral victory is wrong.
3. The theme to me personally is gonna have to be strength. Strength of character and ideal. Chris although I personally hold some distain for did something that I would never be able to do. Sometimes I want a break from life but actually to go to the core of nature and just jump in is crazy and it takes strength. Also maybe a bit of seperation looking at it. Maybe if your were to relate it to the mind. Always being trapped even if in something perfect you just long for more.
4. Im gonna stretch it and say that I see fight club. Fight club unique in the way that it takes it characters and makes them a society based on idea and the need to do things never done. Chris taking this journey is much like tyler starting the club and getting the group together to fight new battles.
5. I relate in the way that life needs new things. Doing what I always do just isn't enough I want that big journey that when you look back you go that made life worth it. That one defining moment where I did something I thought impossible against all odds and at least had the courage to try is the moment I stive for much like the story of into the wild.
6.Society has the same issues in the fact of traditions. Everything has been the sa,e since the start of time. What nations have crossed the borders not out of hate but to walk a mile in anothers shoes. What big changes to life have come as a whole to society and not just a few peoples dream.
