Poetry Stuff

1.Be Glad Your Nose is on Your Face by Jack Prelutsky
Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.

Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you'd be forced to smell your feet.

Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place--
be glad your nose is on your face!

2. I found this poem interesting because it was funny and inventive. It wasn't about the usual things that poems are about but it was light hearted and fun and mainly about appreciation for your nose.
3.The title fits in obviously with the poem because it is basically the point or the these of the peom. It is the statement that you should be glad your nose is on your face and then is immediately followed by a few verses that have a reason for that being good and an example for any where else being bad.
4.Uses imagery by saying your noce then tickled by your hair so you can see the hair tickling the nose or your brain rattling from the sneeze. It also uses a plethera of rhymes and syllable patterns. These things combine to create images and feelings that are funny and unwanted making you happy and feel lucky that your nose in inbetween your eyes and chin.
5.The tone is happy and light hearted. Maybe a little joking with the irony or perfection of this small part of life. It is very upbeat and suave in its deliverance making the tone very smooth and joyful.
p.s. Twins and White Sox tied a top division and now it is approximately t minus 5 and a half hours till gmae time for the 1 game playoff for a post season berth! Lets go twins!

Title options and my choice

Title option
1. A game to remember
2. Rivalry: A way of life
3. Competition, Change, and Cool-aid

Tuesday....No one likes you. If I were to met a person named tuesday I would punch them in the face. Waking up on a tuesday is worse than waking up on a monday, wednesday, and tuesday combined. It is similar to being shot out of a large shoe into a pool of sharp marshmellows. A feeling that i'm sure if you've experienced would agree full heartedly with the uncomfortableness. Today i'm going to vent out a bit. I would also like to voice my hatred for cake, vegetables, fruit, burgers to an extent, cocky people, wet clothes, a broken pencil lead, a unhappy clown, blue jeans that arent blue, and the game 21 questions (the not electronic kind). I don't like those things nuf said. Things I like; Irony, Bacon, Wendys, Frisbee Golfing in a storm, Stroms in general, Orange, Beach volleyball, and energy drinks. If I could have a super power it would be super speed, if I could have a skill it would be to read good, If I could pick my height i would be joe mauers height, If i could pick and eye color it would be blue not regular blue but like navy an usual shade, If i had a million dollars i would be rich, and if i could jump high maybe i wouldnt suck at basketball. The thought I leave you with is pie.

I changed up my writing style today gimme some feedback if you liked or not

topic of choice

Twins are 2.5 out and we begin our 3 game series with the white sox. Big implications and even bigger oppoutunity with each win we can suck out of this series. Also Joe is batting .330 and is curently .oo7 points above dustin pedroia in the batting race. Morneau is batting .311 and has 128 rbi's and is poised to make his second mvp award his if he can just lead us to victory and get us into the playoffs. To be honest though his chances if we dont make the playoffs are very slim. In other news Tim Lincecum is Nasty is you don't know who he is go look him up. He is going to be dominant next year and hes already just about the best. In other news for those of you who haven't noticed Avery and I are kinda of on the wire. The friendship just sucks so much out of me because she can be soooooo hurtful with her meanie comments. But she is funny and I mean I gave her a wedding ring true it was drawn but the meaning behind it quite real and thats just something you don't forget overnight right? I mean somehting that strong is like Zeus on steroids, or Zach Budish....., or the smell of bacon in the morning, you could even say its comporable to the strength is a rain shower were to hit all at one time in the same spot. One big drop. Possibly even as strong as my ability to make really good analogies. But that is all I have time for today
You stay classy Edina,

Narative Passage

Rivalry isn't just a word anymore either. Rivalry and my rivals now the bain of my existence. This game taught me not only to have pride in my school but in myself and to compete as if every game was the big game so that when that moment comes I won't let it go.

This paragraph has some good base to it and a couple good thoughts to it but it just sounds incomplete. Some of the sentences feel like there should be more after them. "Rivalry and my rivals now the bain of my existence" seems like a thought left mid journey. There needs to be a conclusion part to the sentence something like "and challengers of my every move and thought striving me to want to be the best". Also having wrote about so many other things in the paper I feel as if there should be more to the conclusion of this event in my life. This event in my life that made me more competitive, and marked a chapter of my life that was an unexpected boost having only started and ended my football career in that near perfect season. A smoother transition between the backlash at my rivals and the declaration of my school pride I think would also be beneficial in the portrayal of my story. Something might work like "This strive for the best often attacked by the warriors of other schools with the same goal. This mutual competition and marksmanship for eachother causes the hatred between school and more extreme nationalism for your own school". Add a that after have in the origonal aswell to better fit flow.

I also am wondering if people get what I am saying? Mainly do they understand what I want them to learn? I don't know if I know myself but I am interested to see what other people think while reading it seeing as this comes straight from my mind and I wouldn't talk to people like I talk in my stories.

Thanks for reading,
Kraus

Discover

This is my first blog. I'm guessing because of my lack of experience with just free writing on a forum type leel my topics will range alot. Also a precursor warning that my grammar could be very bad at times and i often abbrieviate things if im going to fast. My guess is my typing got to be like that because of my past obsession with AIM which was basically where I learned to type.

So it begins. Seeing as I don't have a topic I need to talk about i'm going to talk about baseball. I am a big twins fan. The twins are my favrotie team of basically any sport. We are currently a game out of 1st in the american league central division. The problem now is that the red sox are pulling away and even have a chance at over taking the rays. At the current rate though the chance of a wild card team coming out of the central is very slim. So it comes down to us versus the white sox. The white sox lost carlos quetin for the time being but still have a very powerful lineup with thome, konerko, dye, and ken griffey jr. The red sox although if you ask me are aging and will soon stop constantly being in contention are still getting it done even with a less than 100 david ortiz and a line up without man ram. But the big surprise is the rays. I knew they would be better than other people thought they were going to be but who would have thought first place? I knew evan longoria would be good and bartlett and garza going there from right here in minnesota would be a good pickup just as delmon young has been for us. My simple hope is that Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau can get the twins together and win the division. Needless to say i'm a baseball fan.

Sorry for the long entry and hopefully next time if you aren't a baseball fan I will write about something more interesting for you to read. But expect another baseball entry when october rolls around and the playoff teams are decided. Thanks for reading
